Argentinean Steak (4 persons)
Ingredients:
- 4 beef steaks
- 50g butter or margarine
- 1 finely chopped red onion
- 1 clove of garlic (pressed)
- 100g corn kernels (drained)
- 3tbsp apple juice
- 3 tomatoes (peeled and chopped)
- 1tbsp oil
- 1 bunch coriander
Preparation:
- Let the steak become room temperature before you cook it.
- Dab the meat dry.
- Melt the butter in the frying pan.
- Cook the meat on a medium flame for 2 to 8 minutes as you like. For the best result, move the steaks over the surface of the pan while they cook.
- At the same time, heat the oil in another pan and cook the garlic and the red onion until caramelized. Next, add the corn and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the apple juice and let the moisture cook off.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and add salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove the steak from the pan, wrap in aluminium foil and let sit for 3 minutes.
- Serve the steaks with the warm salsa and sprinkle with coriander.
Delicious with kidney beans and rice.
